Amidst the conflict, a group of villagers are hiding in the woods after having escaped a massacre and are on the run from the Ustashe (a Croatian fascist organization). It is clear that they will die if they do not get help. Savka, a 16 year-old girl, volunteers to go find help. She must find Tito's Partisans; the only hope this country has left. While searching for the Resistance, she realizes that she has overestimated her survival skills and must exercise logic, patience, and combat on her journey. See less
