His grandmother hoped the job finally cured him of the obsession fed by his mother Sabine, to finish his late, semi-famous father's local maritime UFO-research. His girlfriend Jenny Weber just dumped him for caring more about hat research then them, perhaps returning to her ex, Jonas's fellow apprentice Gerrit Franz, in whose car a blowtorch is found.
