Before going to the Aldrich dinner party, Matt warns Maggie to avoid the ...See moreCathy wishes that Nick had made his marriage proposal before she lost their baby, and she realizes that she has to keep that a secret until after they're married. Before going to the Aldrich dinner party, Matt warns Maggie to avoid the subject of Dan Allison. At the party, everyone tries to avoid talking about the problems between Dan and Steve, causing a nosy Mona to work even harder at finding out why Dan could have hated Steve. Nick presses Cathy for an answer to his proposal, but she worries that he and Althea will eventually make up, effectively voiding today's proposal. Nick insists that he's made up his mind and is being straight with her. They can even go tomorrow for their marriage license. Cathy wants to know how soon they can marry, and Nick points out that since her pregnancy isn't showing yet, they should do it soon. However, he wants the marriage to take place at city hall. When Cathy says she would like to get a new dress for the occasion, Nick reiterates that it will be a marriage in name only, and thus, not a festive occasion. Obviously wanting more, Cathy approaches him softly and with tenderness, but when he says that he has a headache, she quietly relents and leaves. Written by Skip Eastport See less
