When Flora gifts him the cottage where Michael and Thomas lived in secret, he employs architect Steve, who has an open relationship with the older Caspar, to renovate it. Despite Adam's fear of commitment, Steve persuades him they should become a proper couple. But Flora is initially unnerved when Adam finds and shows her a painting by Thomas, leading her to explain her late husband's relationship with the artist.
