Matt assigns Hank to assume responsibility for Dan's overnight care. Emma is shocked to find that Carolee has agreed to return home and is sacrificing her own needs for Dan once again. Carolee reminds her that Dan was once very kind and considerate, back in the days when she was caring for Billy during Tammy's illness. Emma opines that Dan is nice when he's getting his own way. Reading a book in bed, Maggie is overcome by an excruciating, high-pitched sound in her head. Greta comes into the bedroom, wanting Maggie to tell her and the rag-doll a story, but Maggie snaps at her, ordering her to get back in bed. Matt arrives home in time to hear Maggie losing her patience with Greta and offers to tuck her in. He notes that Maggie appears uncharacteristically upset, just as she was the day she took his head off over his comments about Nick. Later, while Matt showers, Maggie hears the high-pitched squeal again and covers her ears. She recalls being with Frank in the deserted house, but unlike the story she previously reported -with him as the aggressor- she remembers pestering Frank to take her to Wyoming. When she says that Greta will be fine without a mother, Matt can take care of her, Frank decides that something's wrong with her and calls her "loco." Maggie awakens and tells Matt that she must be losing her mind. He gets her to recite her social security number, which she does perfectly. He jokes that he saw that test in a movie, suggesting she's not insane but simply went to bed too strained and fatigued. He advises her that nothing's wrong, and she's just fine.
