Matt offers to send John to an international psychiatric conference in New York. John cautions Matt that Greta's recent progress isn't a complete cure, as she could possibly regress. Matt receives a phone call from Karen Werner, calling from Berlin. Karen confides in Matt that her son Erich has a congenital heart defect of which Steve has no knowledge. Matt agrees to consider performing open heart surgery on Erich if he can be safely moved to the United States.
