Arachnaphobic Essex carpenter Joe, who wants to set a fear-free example for his beloved kid sons, is aired with Neo from Soweto (South Africa), whose manly status is affected by his 'girlish' fear of rats. The boys stand by each-other on the first day, without Bear, facing a spider web concentration first, then sleeping in hammocks in a dirty, rat-infested camp. Next day, Bear arrives to force them facing fears gradually, which Joe does extremely well with a tarantula, unlike Neo with a local giant rat-like rodent. Then the trio descends into a huge 'devil cauldron' sinkhole, which even local tribes avoid due to the abundant creepy wildlife, warned there's no 'safe' way out back up.
