Her instructor, Marianne Helme, who is looking for her, has not returned either, and night falls. Alex and Angelo immediately mobilise volunteers and discover with terror the body of Marianne stranded in a torrent but no trace of Justine. Very quickly, the suspicions are on Jérémy Raveau, a strange person that subsists thanks to odd jobs. Raveau is escorted to the rural police station where the locals are demanding justice. Lt. Renart of the criminal brigade in Marseille is responsible for the investigation. But Raveau's mental handicap makes interrogation particularly difficult. Usually so professional, Angelo is this time particularly tested by the case. The father of the missing girl is a close friend and little Justine is his goddaughter.
