He was married for ten years and was soon to be a partner at his company as a successful mechanical engineer. He made 83, 000 a year and provided a safe home for his wife and three children in Gilbert, Arizona. At approximately 2;36 AM on January 14, 2009, his wife of ten years, Marissa DeVault, put a hammer in his husband's head five times while he was fast asleep, only hours after having sex. Her first 911 calls to the Gilbert Police Department claimed abuse and rape. The ensuing investigation revealed a story known only to a few and a life kept secret from a husband.
