Karli deems the Native American war bonnet morally reprehensible and refuses to wear it in the finale of the show. After taking a stand, she tries to get the advice she desperately needs from her mother, a hard-working teacher, but instead succumbs to hunger and dehydration in the backstage bathroom. When she wakes she finds herself in an unknown hospital with her hands and feet in restraints. Her manager has become her nurse. The stage manger is her orderly.
