Bart Wilson, a reporter, is caught snooping outside the house where Taft is holding Ed and the Morrissey family hostage. Louise wants to call a doctor because a distraught Judy continues to worry about Ed's safety. While McCabe and Taft move the heroin stash to the garage, Ed breaks free of his restraints. Ed awaits Taft's return. Chief Marceau moves Rankin and Lt. Segal closer to the Morrissey house when they spot the garage light on. Ed and Taft struggle over a gun, and Ed is shot. Taft flees in a car with Ed's identification. The police open fire on Taft's car. After being riddled with bullets, the car swerves off the road and crashes. Wilson retrieves Ed's ID from Taft's body before the cops arrive. Later, Judy faints when Wilson arrives to tell her that Ed was killed in a car crash. Written by Skip Eastport See less
