His chance for a comeback occurs when he is invited by best friend Jez to his wedding to the imperious Selina, where a TV executive to whom Jez will effect an introduction, is the best man. Selina does not like Bill, especially when he eats pastries destined for a charity function and worse is to follow when Bill and his wife Faith lose the wedding present and replace it with cheap glasses bought at a garage.
