The call was made posthumously with his cellphone. Synthetic DNA on his cloths. Microscopic copper threads trace to a major theft on his yard that night, not the first. His partner Jasmin Lenske acts shocked and incredulous, claiming ex-con Mirko Hanisch was fully reformed since they went steady. Her own, missing ex-con brother René Lenske would make a perfect cahoot and is found by tailing her, but manages to escape. Managing yard owner Martin Hoppe is also suspected of connivance, as well as employee Rüdiger Böhme, who has an alibi.
