Prince and Fox are surprised to be expected at their next planet, belonging to the Okidans. It lives in constant fear of annihilation by the often closely-approaching comet Siffreo, which can only be prevented by a magical beam launched by the Okodo, a hereditary sort of priest-king. His wife and daughters say he's missing, presumably gone to mount Kodo. As the serpent appears and the Prince displays his magic abilities to fight it, the queen insists he should cede her some powers, which he declines as impossible.
