Phil's wife Sue thinks Charlie would be better off in sheltered accommodation but Phil is not keen. One night,whilst driving to see his obstinate father Phil takes a call from to say the house is on fire and,distracted,he runs down a young woman. Having rung for an ambulance he speeds off to find Charlie needs hospital admission. Stressed out by events he snaps at work and threatens an annoying student,putting his job in jeopardy.
