He nonetheless vows to help her prove her innocence. Poppy is arrested for breach of her restraining order thanks to Serena's sister Fez and for the first time Evan learns of his wife's past and walks out on her,taking Vee. Serena visits Poppy in her cell and they recall the night of Hansley's murder,which prompts Serena to meet with Al and seek out the dead teacher's girlfriend at the time, Marlene,who now has his child. Having blotted out the past for years Serena discovers that her mother was aware of what happened when Marcus Hansley died and holds the key to the truth which will ultimately exonerate Poppy and allow her to lead a new life with Al.
