Li Cunxin is known as 'Mao's Last Dancer' through the best selling book and movie of the same name. At the age of 11 he was plucked from an impoverished family in rural China to become one of the most acclaimed dancers in the world. He ultimately settled in Australia with his dancer wife Mary McKendry and took on an new career in stockbroking to better support his family. Now, he's back in a new job as Artistic Director of the Queensland Ballet. It's seen as a gamble because he has no track record as a choreographer.
