Rachel is surprised when Danny's mother Sarah suspects her son of the murder as they clearly have their differences and Sarah regards the boy as a disappointment. A neighbour claims to have seen Danny leave the house on the night of the murder but a new line of enquiry opens when Sarah admits that her husband was gay and picked up young men for sex. When one of them is discovered with Ed's car another suspect is added to the list. Janet persuades her mother to move in as Adrian leaves to live with his new girlfriend and Sean becomes suspicious after a man rings asking for Susie,the name Rachel used with her one night stand.
