Owner Riccarda Lenné reports a ransom demand, which allows the police to catch recently paroled 'career' petty thief Kai Meerbusch, but he just pretended having the loot. Jan Arnaud finds the robbery was staged to distract from the purposeful murder. Attention turn to her more private sphere: her lovers Jan Weimar, an obsessive artist, and Arianes professor and promoter Ulrich Beck, who didn't know about each-other.
