One Sunday morning he wakes up to find a strange old man in his flat. Assuming the man is homeless, he tries to get rid of him. But the 'vagrant' turns out to be an angel sent from heaven to spend this Sunday with Phil. By the end of this extraordinary day Phil reluctantly realizes that many aspects of his life need changing, as the Angel points out to him in a sometimes excessively categorical and peremptory manner.
