When the other students and even their teacher Mrs. Zook start to like Robert's stories more and more, Toby tries to emulate Robert. In doing so he begins to lose his identity even more and his writing begins to slide. A fight with his rarely involved mother finally sets Toby off in a whirlwind of writing, using all of the events in his life to write perhaps the greatest story, his story.
