She joined the Marine Corps as a way to "fight the bad guys" who are responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Stationed in Zabul Province, Afghanistan and assigned to the Motor Pool, she gets the opportunity to join a Female Engagement Team, or FET. As a woman in the Marine Corps, Olive finds she must constantly prove herself, but she also discovers bonds of sisterhood and of friendship. When a male Corpsman vilifies her in front of her fellow troopers, she becomes more determined than ever to show her mettle.
