He had a number of secret hideouts but his most favorite place to be was in a tiny little town outside north of Ithaca, NY called Groton. The hangout was the Benn Conger mansion, the home of former congressman Benn Conger. Conger founded the Smith Corona typewriter company. He died within months of moving in to his new mansion. Dutch Shultz's ghost reportedly haunts the mansion to this day, along with other spirit entity. Internationally renowned psychic Bernice Golden and her investigative crew visited the mansion in August of 2004 and filmed her first encounters with a number of spirits, some, not very friendly.
