For Veronika, this departure from the family business is a serious breach of trust. Her partner Max tries in vain to excuse Stefan's behavior as rebellious proof of his independence. Veronika is too disappointed to be satisfied with this explanation, especially since Stefan, stubborn and insecure as he is, does nothing to bridge the gap to his mother. An attempt at reconciliation initiated by Merle also fails: Just at the moment when Stefan dares to attempt reconciliation, Veronika confronts him with a momentous offer: she wants to buy his shares in the Schwarzwaldhof. In her eyes, he cannot work for the competition and at the same time be a partner in the family hotel. Deeply hurt, Stefan accepts the offer and breaks off contact with his mother. He begins to lure the guests away from the Schwarzwaldhof with unfair tricks. It is quite clear that this cannot go well for long: after a complaint, he is fired. From one day to the next he is without a job and without family support, but with a lot of debt, since he has just bought a glamorous condominium. But he is too proud to seek a discussion with his mother. A mediation attempt by Merle's husband, the chef Martin, ends in disaster. The grief with Stefan also affects Veronika's health: diffuse, ever-increasing stomach pains won't let her go. In order not to worry Max, Merle and their employees, she hides her complaints - especially since Max is having big problems herself at the moment; his tragic past catches up with him: the police believe they have finally caught his wife's murderer. However, Max does not want to reopen the old wounds and refuses to cooperate with the investigators. Written by ARD Das Erste See less
