This unwanted visitor is the king of a magical cult. Simon sees that the king is searching for his true identity and no longer sees him as evil. Simon is gentle and understanding. The king is vulnerable and human but Simon knows it is too late to help him. Unfortunately, the king and his magical cult have destroyed too many people's lives to be redeemed. They have done something far worse than simply taking over the city; they have taken away the people's will to live. What will happen now that the two worlds have collided? What will the king do to Simon? The innocence of youth that Simon represents confronts the murky confusion of the king's self-entrapment. In the Fable, the journey of each character's self-discovery is uniquely interwoven. In order to understand ourselves we must first understand each other. See less
