After he returns, Ramdayal, Mangru's dad, enraged with his son for giving money away to the needy, asks him to join Chhedhi and prosper. Mangru accordingly re-locates and is shocked to find him living in Bharat Nagar's slum in Andheri and driving an auto-rickshaw. Suspecting a shortage of clothes, he then attempts to coerce young scantily clad women, including Urvashi, to wear traditional clothing, and is beaten by a mob.
