Before the marriage could take place, Sandhya's dad, Advocate Bhaskar, passes away, leaving the onus on her mother, Kaushalya, to shoulder the responsibility of looking after her as well as 2 other children. The family is devastated to find that the marriage has been canceled, as Sagar wants to get married to a well-off girl. Sandhya then gets married to a much older male, an advocate, with two children. She re-locates to live with them and finds herself being abused by her husband's aunt.
