Now the time has finally come: Anne and Norbert want to set off from Denmark to the Norwegian coast in a motorhome. But the vacation doesn't have a good star right from the start. First Anne has to travel to Denmark in a bus full of noisy package tourists because her husband was too thrifty to rent a motorhome in Germany; and when he arrives in Denmark, Norbert tells her that he wants to complete the 2,000 kilometers to the North Cape as quickly as possible with the luxury motorhome he has reserved - because he actually doesn't feel like going on the whole trip anyway. But Anne, who was looking forward to a discovery-filled trip along picturesque country roads and along lonely fjords, doesn't want to accept that. A heated argument ensues, which ends with Norbert starting the journey home - convinced that Anne will follow him on the next ship to Germany. But he's completely wrong, because for the first time in their almost 40-year marriage, Anne doesn't just give in. She decides to continue the journey alone. By chance she meets the single doctor Katja. The two women hit it off right away, and so Anne postpones her onward journey in order to spend a few relaxing days with her new friend. However, there is another reason for her to stay: in the headstrong marine biologist Konrad, Anne has found an admirer who, with his brash, nature-loving and free-spirited nature, is so refreshingly different from the narrow-minded Norbert. In any case, Anne realizes more and more clearly that her marriage is in a dead end from which there seems to be no turning back. At the same time, back home in Germany, Norbert is torn between his longing for Anne and frustration over their relationship, which has long since stalled. Together with his adult daughter Sonja, he finally goes back to Denmark to surprise Anne for her birthday. But it quickly becomes clear that Anne is not prepared to simply give up her newfound freedom and return to her old life as a meek, self-sacrificing wife. She is determined to travel to the North Cape with Konrad, who is suffering from incurable cancer, and thereby fulfill her lifelong dream. Written by ADR Das Erste See less
