The Maibach paper mill is saved. In return, Marius has an empty inn that is part of the company's ownership signed over. Together with his partner Renee, the experienced restaurateur and wine merchant wants to convert the neat half-timbered house into a gourmet restaurant. Through this business relationship, Barbara and Marius slowly come closer to each other in their private lives. The relaxed way in which Marius achieves his goals is contagious to the disciplined business woman. Barbara finally lets the reins loose and shares the business responsibility with her brother Rainer. Daughter Ina also benefits from the new serenity and passes her difficult business administration exam. And when Barbara's mother Elisabeth withdraws from office work to go on a trip around the world with her friend Roland Meissner, Barbara accepts this with amazing equanimity. Everything is going perfectly - until husband Wolfgang appears, to whom Barbara is still married on paper. The globetrotter suddenly got homesick.
