Grimm is angry when he finds the bill gone, and Platz returns and places the bill on the counter again and, of course, removes it with the aid of the subtle string. In his room. Platz receives a note from the tailor to the effect that he will expose him at the ball if he doesn't pay for the suit. Platz kicks the bearer of the note out of the window and prepares for the ball. Platz goes out of the house to get something to supplement his already cumbersome masquerade costume and is spotted by Grimm. There is a chase and Platz catches on to the rear end of an automobile. Grimm has nothing to do but shake his fist after the elusive Platz. The man with the vanishing money is next seen walking up another street laden with bundles. He is attacked by Grimm, and with his arms full of bundles is unable to repel the attack. The bundles are strewn promiscuously about and in a rage Platz picks them up and hurls them in all directions. One hits a policeman another a woman, etc. Grimm is discouraged at not finding the money and goes back to his shop and burns about four gross of matches looking for the bill. Mrs. Ralston has words with her husband, who is disinclined to attend the masque ball. She throws his costume from the window. Platz sees it and throws his out also. A boy finds them and sells Platz's to a big husky. Platz decides to attend the ball without a character costume. Grimm is stationed at the door of the hall when the husky comes along with Platz's costume, accompanied by his girl. Grimm starts to belittle him before his lady friend, and the result is that Grimm is trimmed up in proper style. Mrs. Ralston appears at the ball in her limousine shortly in advance of Platz. Grimm, recovering from the effects of the beating, recognizes Platz and follows him into the ball. Platz leaves the ball in a hurry and leaps into Mrs. Ralston's limousine, which is. at this time, m charge of an intoxicated chauffeur. The driver heads for the Ralston home and then pulls Platz into the house. Mrs. Ralston returns, and when she learns the story they all have a laugh. Mr. Ralston arrives, but he is rushed into the background. Grimm appears at the window and soon a policeman is brought into the house. Platz pays the tailor the bill to the policeman, and all shake hands. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
