The Clossons arrange ...See moreIn the late 19th century, several nouveau riche families find they are having difficulty breaking into the upper crust of New York's social set. All are concerned that their daughters have the correct social standing. The Clossons arrange for their daughter Conchita to marry an Englishman, Lord Richard Marabel. The St.Georges hire and English governess, Laura Testvalley, for their youngest daughter Nan who is upset her older sister Virginia has more freedom than she. It's Miss Testvalley who suggests that the girls go to London for the season after which they should have little trouble being accepted in the New York society. Once in England, Miss Testvalley and her friend plot the girls social life. Together with Conchita and a fourth girl, Lizzy Elmsworth, the four go off to conquer London society.
