She marries her lover, however, and goes away with him. But her father disowns her as a daughter, and her letters are returned unopened. Her husband decides to go to his father-in-law in the garb and manners of a farmer, obtain work on the farm, and win a name as a hard worker. Disguised as a farmer, he obtains work. The daughter returns home, telling her parents that she has left her husband. The father encourages his daughter to fall in love with the farmer, and is pleased to see a mutual affection apparently spring up. But one thing troubles him, the girl's husband. He will have to he gotten out of the way. Of course, he is gotten out of the way in a manner pleasing to all, when the two plotters confess the true situation, and live happily ever after.
