Their warning that a protection racket is operating in the area does not concern him. But he is very impressed by the handsome Detective Gareth Pritchard Peter and Kate renew their squabbling and Kate tells Peter she wants to sell the family house. Peter is appalled but Kate gets Sion her other brother who is in prison on side. Professor Powell invites Elen to a conference in Dublin. Fellow student Johnston can't make the conference and Powell and Elen end up dining alone. Emyr is mugged in a gay bar and is rescued by the police officers that visited him.
