Boogie Knights was an X-rated parody of the parody. Conceived by Christopher R. Phillip and porn legend Sasha Gabor in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1997, the direct to video release was filmed in Tampa, Florida in 1997. The movie stars Sasha Gabor in two roles: Buddy, the director, a parody of Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights and "The Bandit," a parody of Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. There is also a parody of Reynold's character, JJ McClure, from Cannonball Run. The actors and actresses parodied the roles of the mainstream actors in Boogie Nights. Although the majority of the cast were professional adult film actors, not all of the cast were, including cameos by writer Christopher R. Phillip as Little Willy and Brian Onofrio as Captain Chaos. The decision to include porn legend Ron Jeremy in the production was last minute and Jeremy was cast to the film after Gabor asked him if he'd like to be on screen. Written by Christopher R.
