The morning mail brings only a bunch of Nell's bills, and he goes up in the air. Nell declares that she will go home to her dear mother and Will dares her to. He gives her the money for railroad fare and leaves. Down at the office he cannot work, and sadly he returns to the deserted home. He has not the heart to enter, but sits on the steps in deep dejection. Meantime, Nell has fallen for the lure of the shop windows and by the time she reaches the station she has spent every cent, so she goes home and she and Will forgive each other. Written by
