Jim threatens to freeze Dylan's monthly payments from his trust fund on the grounds that by living with Brenda, he is unlawfully living with a minor. Meanwhile, Kelly and Donna plan a trip to Paris, but Kelly decides not to go, as she wants to stay and help care for her newborn baby sister. Jim, using a little influence and blackmail, convinces Brenda to go to Paris in Kelly's place, to get her away from Dylan. Brandon and Steve flirt with two twin girls at the beach club who later turn the tables on a thoughtless Steve when he plans a date swap.
