Craig Bowman, a ranch owner, is leisurely walking through the woods, when he meets an Indian, who is half starved. Bowman refuses to help the red man, and when he returns to his home later, he discovers his wife feeding the Indian. Bowman sends the Indian away without allowing him to eat the food his wife had prepared. He then reprimands her. Shortly after, their child, Lois, playing with her doll in the woods, becomes lost.
