Then, to make a hit and win Olive, Billy appropriated his little sister's doll Lizzie and made Olive a present of it. This made him solid with Olive and Jimmy saw the way matters stood, and he himself took the doll and tried to drown it in a nearby lake. Billy, however, ever alert, heard Olive's cries for help and rushed into the icy lake and rescued Lizzie amidst the snapping and snarling of some very vicious fish.
