The winner at least, and in fact one or more runners-up (not necessarily in the scoring order) are rewarded with a record contract, which is very hard to get nowadays in the Low Countries; actually Brahim Attaeb (later Eurosong pre-selection finalist), Wim Soutaer and Natalia (Druyts) got a better career boast out of it then winner Peter Evrard.
