Slim protests, but Mrs. Slim wins out in the domestic squabble which follows, and Slim visits an employment agency and engages "The Peach," a very pretty and vivacious maid. When Slim brings "The Peach" home Mrs. Slim's suspicions are aroused and the discovery of floured handprints on Slim's coat, coincident with The Peach being engaged in making biscuits, starts a real war in the Hoover household. At the height of hostilities, Slim's parents arrive for a visit, and when Mrs. Slim tells of Slim's domestic duplicity, Hoover, Sr., goes to the kitchen to fire The Peach. He comes back with damning handprints on his coat and his wife rushes him home. Mrs. Slim decides to settle the matter herself and after throwing "The Peach" and her belongings out of the house, dons her work clothes and decides that she prefers the neighbors' snubs to having another woman in the house with her impressionable Slim.
