Her Boyfriend Richard is mixed up in drug dealing when he decides to keep the money and run from his associates, who they were suspicious of this might happened so they followed them and chased them. Melita and Richard split during the chase and Richard gets killed by the gangsters. Melita calls a friend of hers, Alexis in order to hide her somewhere safe. They fall in love and she keeps manipulate him, so Alexis in order to provide her the kind of life she loves, gets mixed in gambling scam where he cheats on poker games along with Melita's aunt Gizela. Gizela's husband who is a rich old man, hits on Melita and by buying her expensive presents he gets what he wants. One day a poker game does not go well and his scam gets discovered by the other players, so now Alexis and Melita must run again from everyone.
