Father Jean, hurrying to his casual job (dog washing), finds a pack of clothes on the floor. In a cloak, he discovers keys, a letter and a notebook. In the letter, a man named Harry Barclay bequeaths his fortune, his house and all he possesses to the one who will find it first. Father Jean goes to Barclay's house in Passy. He moves there. The next morning, a young girl introduces herself and jumps on her neck, exclaiming: "Hello my uncle!" Father Jean lets her believe. The girl moves in. Barclay was a writer and Father John has to write a novel that Barclay's publisher had commissioned. A young secretary helps him in this task. But one day, La Bricole arrives and threatens to say everything if Father Jean does not let him settle in. The young secretary and the niece love each other but he is poor. He does not dare to declare himself but she tries to convince his "uncle". La Bricole, however, has set his eyes on the girl and demands to marry her. Written by Sven F. Lituris See less
