She and Alan are still on their honeymoon, however, when Nathalie Trevore, Joan's spoiled and selfish younger sister, sets her cap for Alan and successfully vamps him. Alan later boards a yacht for a business appointment and is "shanghaied" by Nathalie and her friends, who take him ashore so that Nathalie may triumph over Joan at the honeymoon cottage.
