She breaks the engagement, however, when she realizes she loves Sandy Sanderson, and the heartbroken, cynical George goes to Europe to forget. Upon his return from Paris, George takes his old friend Sandy for a ride, and George returns alone with the explanation that Sandy was killed by an assailant and he (George) was unable to help. The next day Rose receives, in reply to her letter to a French eye specialist, a report that George was cured of his blindness sometime ago. Sandy rushes in and describes George's attack on him; George confesses and leaves in disgrace. Written by AFI See less
