Walter, back on the farm, dreams of the day when he can take Sarah in his arms; in the city, Sarah dreams of him. She finds work hard to obtain and is obliged to accept the job of typing the menus for old Schulenberg's restaurant in return for three meals served in her room. As springtime nears, her dreams are so insistent that she can scarcely work. On a certain day an item appears on the menu reading thus: "Dandelions and Hard-Boiled Eggs." The dandelions make her think of Walter and how much he loved the dish, but she succeeds in getting the menus typed in time to suit the boss. One day Walter comes to town and drops into the restaurant. When he finds on the menu "Dearest Walter with Hard-Boiled Eggs," he rushes madly to the proprietor and asks for Sarah. No more farm for Walter. Written by
