One evening he betrays her and a few days later, Dennis drops dead. Later Diana goes to the country home of her aunt, the only mother she has ever known. Shortly after a boy is born to her. In the meantime her father dies suddenly, and she returns to her city home with her aunt, the boy posing as the aunt's adopted son. Later Diana marries and has a little girl. As the years go by the children fall in love. When the boy asks to marry her daughter, Diana confesses the truth to her husband, and is about to tell the children when her aunt discloses the fact that Diana's real son is dead, and that she had substituted an adopted child for her niece's son years before.
