The sheriff immediately starts out with his posse to effect the outlaw's capture. Shortly after he leaves, another telegram arrives which his daughter Agnes carelessly tucks in her dress unopened. Agnes while at a picnic goes too far into the forest in her search for a hiding place, and gets lost. At last she comes on Jim Dawson camped in an inaccessible portion of the forest. Her desperate plight touches the man and he assures her that she has nothing to fear. In the morning, careless of his own peril, Dawson leads Agnes to the edge of the woods near her home. Here he is pounced upon by the sheriff and his deputy. Agnes' story touches the sheriff but his sense of duty will not allow him to countenance the prisoner's escape. Suddenly Agnes thinks of the telegram. Pulling it from her dress, she hands it to her father. The sheriff opens it, and discovers that the man Dawson shot has recovered and has cleared the prisoner from all blame. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
